**Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University Strengthens Local Development through Training Program for Newly Elected Local Government Leaders**

 Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Udon Thani Education Center, continues to reinforce its role as a higher education institution for local development through the organization of a training program titled “Capacity Building for Newly Elected Executives and Members of Local Administrative Organizations on Budget Management, Local Development Planning, and Regulations Governing Local Council Meetings.” The program was held from March 25–27, 2026, at Siamgrand Hotel, Udon Thani Province, with the objective of enhancing knowledge and strengthening the administrative capabilities of local leaders to perform their duties effectively, transparently, and in response to the needs of local communities.

 On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Pattaravis Yoowattana, Director of Udon Thani Education Center, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, delivered a report on the objectives of the program. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Sajit Jantasiri, Head of the Udon Thani Provincial Office for Local Administration, who emphasized the importance of developing local leaders’ knowledge in legal matters, budget administration, and local development planning in alignment with local contexts and public needs.

 The training focused on providing practical knowledge that participants could directly apply in their work, including budget management, local development planning, local council operations, and modern approaches to local administrative organization management. In addition, the program served as an important platform for exchanging experiences and building collaborative networks among local administrators in order to jointly enhance administrative efficiency and promote sustainable community development.

The initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through strengthening the capacity of public sector personnel and local administrative organizations in governance, transparency, and effective management. It also supports SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by promoting local development and effective management of local resources and communities, as well as SDG 4: Quality Education through the university’s role in knowledge transfer and lifelong learning capacity development.

 Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University remains committed to serving as a university for local development by utilizing academic expertise and collaborative networks to strengthen the capacity of community leaders and local administrative organizations, contributing to transparent, sustainable, and resilient development at the local level.
