Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University Pays Tribute at the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Sergeant Major (Special) Thirayut Sijuyjai, a Brave Hero

On August 2, 2025, at Wat Pa Noen Nimit, Ban Khok Klang, Soem Subdistrict, Phonphisai District, Nong Khai Province, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University participated in the royal cremation ceremony (special case) of Sergeant Major (Special) Thirayut Sijuyjai, aged 39, of the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, Chaophraya Surawong Watthanasak Camp, Udon Thani Province. He heroically sacrificed his life while performing his duty to protect Thailand’s sovereignty along the Thai–Cambodian border at Chong Sai Ta Gu, Ban Kruad District, Buriram Province.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ruedet Kerdvichai, Chairman of the University Council, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutikarn Sriwiboon, President of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rojana Chantasaa, Vice President for Research and Development, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Phatrawit Youwatana, Director of the Udon Thani Education Center, to represent the university in paying their respects.

Faculty members, staff, and students from Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Udon Thani Education Center also attended the ceremony to honor and mourn Sergeant Major Thirayut’s selfless sacrifice in service to the nation, embodying the valor and honor of a Thai Army hero.

Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University extends its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and respectfully commemorates the courage and sacrifice of Sergeant Major (Special) Thirayut Sijuyjai.
