Her Highness Princess Vimanadee Saeisavalee Phrom, originally Mom Chao Ying Sai, was born on September 4, 1863, and passed away on June 24, 1929, at the age of 66. She was renowned for her exceptional skills in cooking and botany.
Princess Vimanadee Phrom was the daughter of Krom Muen Phumintharaphakdi, the progenitor of the “Ladawan na Ayudhya” royal lineage (son of King Nangklao, Rama III), and Chao Chom Manda Chin. In 1888, King Chulalongkorn graciously bestowed upon her the title “Phra Akkharaya Thoe Phra Ong Chao Saeisavalee Phrom, Krom Khun Sutthasininat.” Later, in 1925, King Prajadhipok elevated her rank to “Her Highness Princess Vimanadee Phrom, Krom Phra Sutthasininat” and added the royal epithet “Piyamaharat Padivarada,” meaning “a devoted consort loyal to the revered king of the Thai people.”
She had four children:
- Somdet Chao Fa Yukolthikhamporn, Krom Luang Lopburi Ramesew (founder of the Yukol na Ayudhya lineage)
- Chao Fa Napachorn Jamrat Sri (passed away before assuming a title)
- Somdet Chao Fa Malineenopdara Sirinipaphanwadee, Krom Khun Srichachanalai Surakanya
- Somdet Chao Fa Niphannaphadol Wimonprapawadee, Krom Khun Uthong Khet Rakhattiya Naree
She also had two royal sisters:
- Mom Chao Ying Bua, later titled Phra Akkharaya Thoe Krom Khun Akkhawaratchakanya
- Mom Chao Ying Piou, later titled Phra Akkharaya Thoe Phra Ong Chao Saowapaknarirat
In 1920, after the construction of royal residences in Suan Sunandha, Princess Vimanadee Phrom and her two daughters moved from Dusit Palace and the Ladawan Palace of her son to Suan Sunandha, where she lived until her passing in 1929.
The former residence at Suan Sunandha is now preserved as a national heritage site and houses the Center for Arts and Culture, officially called “Tamnak Sai Sutthananapadol,” serving as a cultural and educational center for art and heritage.
